If the fog lifts I’ll go for a walk, This place is heaven’s shadow, And I am slow to talk, When I feel the world’s weight as I go, As I go, Oh Why do we write our names in the sand, And then the waves will roll in and wash them away, Wash them away, And Why do we write our names on wet cement, And then time will roll in and ignore we were ever present, Ever present If the fog lifts I’ll go for a walk, This place is heaven’s shadow, And I am slow to talk, When I feel the world’s weight as I go, As I go.

Deck Chairs 04:57
These days we’re all dancing on each other’s toes, And the chandelier is losing its glow, Hopefully we don’t lose too much time standing in place, Can we please just pick up the pace? We don’t all have to go down on this titanic, Let’s just rearrange the deck chairs instead of panic, Instead of panic, These days all the dreams you showed up in aren’t your own, Would you rather forfeit your escape home, Hopefully there’s a silver lining somewhere in this mess Before we all lose each other’s best interest We don’t all have to go down on this titanic, Let’s just rearrange the deck chairs instead of panic, Instead of panic, These days we’re another band left crescendoing, While our hearts are left capsizing, Hopefully Carpathia will show up soon, Let’s all pray she’s got enough room, We don’t all have to go down on this titanic, Let’s just rearrange the deck chairs instead of panic, Instead of panic,

Turned Over 03:45
He got in the car, And worked the pedal a number of times, And he tried the starter, Until It turned over. So he kept the pedal down, He couldn’t outrun it, When it’s from his heart, That all this trouble sprung, Twisting and turning it over, All while he kept the pedal down, Kept the pedal down, The funny thing about love is, How you can’t see it, Till you turn a corner, How you can’t see it, Till you’ve turned over, A glance at the grey sky, As the drizzle hit his windshield, And reflected on his tears, A signal blinker turned, As he pushed the pedal down, As he drove, He noticed the hurried people, Along the sidewalks, With their shopping bags, And he tried to forget them, So he kept the pedal down, So he kept the pedal down The funny thing about love is, How you can’t see it, Till you turn a corner, How you can’t see it, Till you’ve turned over, Oh you can’t see it Oh you can’t see it

Stop at midnight A cold cup of coffee A magazine in a booth When I Recognize One of the angels Sellin a coat On the last page or two She would act in my town Worked for minimum wage She once told me she slept For an hour each day Well she got her dream I woke up in a motel An hour East New Mexico That southern heat Got me tossin my sheets Held my knees Till the bathtub ran cold Every damn nights Like a Pamplona bull fight Between where I can be And should If I shake like a bastard It ain’t cause the water Till I knock out Like a McGregor hook Drive through midnight My brothers on the line I don’t think I’ll be home in time If that trial goes right I’ll take you out on my dime We’ll drink the peninsula dry Get your coat clean Try not to show Your damn crooked teeth We both know you’re guilty Just don’t show it for the evening He said “I ain’t lookin sharp But I’m just my type And I’ll take you up On that drink ‘nother time That strain in your voice I can hear when you’re tired can hear you ain’t spoke To Lianne in awhile.” Don’t let her see I woke up in a motel In Texas. Arizona? I’m not sure She gets to me Like El Paso heat Knocks me out Like a McGregor hook Knocks me out like No body else could

L.A. River 03:39
As I dial in the station, The neighbors chihuahua barks some more, See the mosquitos on the LA River my head is still pounding sore, Eyes are bleary red, And the coffee coats my throat, It could be Monday or Tuesday, Or Christmas Day for all I know, A quick stop off for a week, Still lingers 3 years on, Maybe the climate suited my needs, Or it’s just where things fell apart, And I know, No sorrow, can survive, The smothering of time But I’m still waiting, As my blinker syncs to the radio, My face ages in the rear view mirror, And My knee hasn’t worked right, Ever since that skuffle late last year, Couldn’t dream of where else to be, Anywhere but here is fantasy, Thunder only happens when it rainin, And Players only love you when they’re playin, I always thought you’d find me, Always thought you cared, Thought you’d at least reach out, Try and see how I fared, Still I know, No sorrow, can survive, The smothering of time And I’m still waiting,

He’d been reading her some Rilke, As she fell asleep with her head on the pillow, And she dreamed a real long drawn out kind of dream, They were staying in a little backwater motel, Fresh off some lake she wasn’t familiar with, Surveying down at the boat landing, An elderly couple called to them, Saying “won’t you come on out for a cruise?” As they set off the water kept rising, Up to her knees, Up to her neck, When she woke everything was surprising, It was all just a Dream, It was all just a Dream, He’d been reading her some Collins, And they had so many covers over them, She could hardly turn under all the weight, Filled with dreams of bees and honey, Their bedroom seemed a wide open meadow, Filled with vistas of hitchhiker weeds, That could only be trespassed, On a good day, like the first of spring, Or in a brief moment of freedom that sprang, Up to her knees, Up to her neck, When she woke everything was surprising, It was all just a Dream, It was all just a Dream,

So many things that I have no control of, Like Wearing paper clothes, While wild fires burn, And in our collective nakedness realizing that there’s, not always something to be learned, So many things that I couldn’t predict, like selling the house, Before ever living in it, And with our spoils, We unfurl like hermit crabs Freed from our shells, So many things we all deserve, like running in place, And hoping to reach home, And in our misunderstanding, Find running the treadmill, Only makes our knees ache more,

Dirty old river, must you keep rolling Flowing into the night? People so busy, make me feel dizzy Taxi light shines so bright But I don't need no friends As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset I am in paradise Every day I look at the world from my window But chilly, chilly is the evening time Waterloo sunset's fine (Waterloo sunset's fine) Terry meets Julie Waterloo station Every Friday night But I am so lazy, don't want to wander I stay at home at night But I don't feel afraid As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset I am in paradise Every day I look at the world from my window But chilly, chilly is the evening time Waterloo sunset's fine (Waterloo sunset's fine) Millions of people swarming like flies 'round Waterloo underground But Terry and Julie cross over the river Where they feel safe and sound And they don't need no friends As long as they gaze on Waterloo Sunset They are in paradise Waterloo sunset's fine (Waterloo sunset's fine) Waterloo sunset's fine
